Limb Pruning

ArborWorks Tree Service has trained, professional tree climbers experienced in the cutting and removal of selected limbs to improve shape, structure and to reduce hazards within the crown of the tree.  Proper pruning is recommended and a necessity for a variety of reasons.  The following are some of the most common pruning practices performed;

    • Removing dead wood, weaker and structurally poor limbs that pose a hazard or may lead to wood decay.
    • Remove criss-crossing limbs that rub causing structural defects and failure.
    • Removing limbs to provide clearance for wires, building, shingles, gutters,
      roofs, chimneys, windows and elevation for driveways, streets or sidewalks.
    • Remove diseased or insect-infested limbs.
    • Remove selected limbs to improve structure and reduce wind resistance and the potential for failure.
    • Removing limbs and damaged sections due to wind, ice and snow.
    • Thinning or removal of branches to increase light penetration to lawn gardens or to promote interior crown growth.
    • Selected limb removal to improve views of lakes, hillsides, lawns or other required lines of site.

ArborWorks pruning methods are up to date, modern practices of arboriculture.  With proper pruning there is a reduced risk of decay, storm damage, insect infestation, disease and a substantial reduction in hazard liability.  Please review ‘Don’t Top Trees’ for further pruning information
